February 2012
This month has started roughly with one of our nurses, Hepsi breaking her arm late in January whilst out helping Dr Jules with her horse! She has managed to break her ulnar which is one of the bones in her forearm in two (2) places!! So hepsi will be on sick leave until around the 3rd of February where she will then become an all to common site on reception as her arm now in a cast heals and leaves her on light duties for the next couple of months. Though I am sure you will be cringing at the thought of breaking a bone I am also sure there are more than a few clients and friends who will be happy to see more of her smiling face as they come into to clinic.
My daughter Isabel is growing rapidly and has started cruising around the house in her walker but is yet to master the moving forward part of crawling! So far it is nothing but frustrating reverse and getting further away from her object of desire. Which, is often a remote control or mobile phone not one of the many xmas presents she received this year.
I am also refreshed after a couple of weeks holiday spent with family in Albany having returned to work last week and have been planning a big year for the clinic. Keep your eye out for some revised and freshened up clinic promotions which will no doubt be helpful to most of you and your pets. This month is Pet dental month all pets can receive a free dental check and if your pet has a routine scale and polish you will receive a 1.8kg bag of HILL's T/D!!
Look forward to seeing you in the coming year - Adrian

Huntingdale Veterinary Centre now has a State-of -the-Art Blood testing Lab!
Why is this important to you and your pet???
This is easy! Most Vet clinics rely on having their blood performed by a veterinary pathology Laboratory which in most cases will result in blood tests taking up to 24 hours. This can mean life or death for some pets. Rapid diagnosis and rapid treatment is the key to successful treatment!
15 minutes for blood test results !!
Below: Idexx blood testing system

Haematology, Biochemistry, Electrolytes, Urinalysis and Hormone testing
We will save more lives more often with quick diagnosis and effective targeted treatment of your pet. And well that is why we are here!!
We are also now able to offer pre-anaesthetic blood testing. An anaesthetic is a BIG DEAL! We will all get a blood test prior to an anaesthetic to ensure it is safe to be anaesthetised, we can now do the same for your pet. Liver disease, kidney disease, Anaemia and other undiagnosed diseases are the leading killers of anaesthetised pets. We want to do everything we can to make your pets anaesthetic as safe as possible giving you PEACE OF MIND that we are taking every possible precaution.
Again a service we are proud to be able to provide for our clients and their furry family members
